The real-fibre half of the range, with the weight stated on every page.
Our mulberry silk sleepwear is 100% silk. The satin sleepwear in the same range is a weave rather than a fibre and it is not silk. We keep the two clearly apart, and each product page says which it is.
What we sell in real silk
- Women's: a long mulberry silk pyjama set in four colours, a camisole and shorts set for summer, and a silk dressing gown sized against UK 10 to 18
- Men's: a long silk pyjama set at 16 momme, a silk dressing gown at 19 momme, and silk boxer shorts at 19 momme
- Accessories: a silk eye mask, a silk hair bonnet and newborn silk baby mittens
Momme, and why we print it
Momme is the weight measure for silk, the way thread count is for cotton. It is the single most useful number on a silk product page.
Ours run 16 momme on the men's pyjama set, 19 on the boxer shorts and both dressing gowns, and the hair bonnet at 22. Heavier is not automatically better: a full length pyjama set at 22 momme would feel heavy under a duvet, which is why sleepwear is woven lighter than bedding. Where a supplier has not published the weight for a line, that page says so rather than borrowing a number from its neighbour.
What silk does, and what it does not
Silk is a natural fibre spun by silkworms. It is smoother than cotton, so it catches less on skin and hair.
It does not treat anything. We make no anti-ageing, medical or hypoallergenic claims for any of it, and anyone with a diagnosed silk allergy should avoid the range.
Common questions
Is all of this real silk?
No. The mulberry silk pieces are 100% mulberry silk. The satin pieces are labelled as satin on every page that sells them, and they are not silk.
What momme weight should I look for?
For sleepwear, mid teens to around 19 is the sensible range: heavy enough to be opaque, light enough to move with you. Bedding can go heavier. Our pages state the weight so you can judge rather than guess.
What does grade 6A mean?
A supplier grading for the length and consistency of the raw filament, with 6A at the top of the usual scale. It describes the yarn, and it is not an independent certificate.
Is silk better than satin for sleeping?
We make no temperature or lifespan claim for either fabric. Silk is a natural fibre and satin costs much less. Both feel smooth.
Can I machine wash silk sleepwear?
Yes, cold on a gentle cycle with a silk detergent, ideally in a mesh bag, or dry clean it. Never bleach it, never wash it hot and do not tumble dry it.
Does it need ironing?
Sometimes, on the reverse at a cool setting. A hot iron glazes silk and the mark does not come out.
Will it last?
We make no lifespan promise. Heat, bleach and direct sunlight are what age silk, so wash it cold and dry it in the shade.
Does silk snag?
It can, on rings, watch straps and rough nails. That is true of any smooth woven fabric rather than a fault in ours.
What sizes do you sell?
It varies by line and each product page states its own. Some listings sell a single size, and where the measurements are not published we say so and will measure the piece before you order.
Is silk sleepwear good for hot sleepers?
We make no temperature claim for it.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
We make no skin, hair or health claim for it. It is a smooth silk surface; anyone with a silk allergy should avoid silk.
Can I have it monogrammed?
Yes. Embroidery is a separate item at £9 per piece, added to the same order. Personalised items are excluded from change-of-mind returns.
How much is delivery?
Free on orders of £75 or more, which most of the silk range clears on its own. Below that it is a flat £25.
Can I return it?
Yes, 14 days from delivery under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, unworn and in resaleable condition. Underwear needs to be unworn with packaging intact for hygiene reasons.
